Using implants to replace missing teeth is a simple procedure now, and one that should be considered as an alternative to a bridge. Dental implants can be used to replace a single tooth, multiple teeth, anchor loose teeth, or replace an entirely toothless jaw. Dental implants can also provide stability for a denture, eliminating looseness and clicking associated with dentures. The implant restoration is the crown or prosthesis that sits on the implant. Implants function virtually like natural teeth and have a high success rate.

Implants may be placed the same day a tooth is taken out, but require approximately 6 months to integrate into the jaw. During this waiting period, you may be provided a temporary or a “flipper” in place of the implant crown to close the space.

Implants are placed in a single appointment, and can usually be done with local anesthesia (numbing of that part of the jaw only). Once placed, implants are not painful, do not decay, and can be brushed and flossed like a natural tooth. For more information about implants, talk to Dr. McLaren.

We are now placing implants for individual tooth replacement, as well as for denture stabilization.

Routinely, we have 17 years of experience restoring implants for individual crowns, implant bridges, implant-supported dentures and partial dentures, and full-mouth rehabilitation. Click below to get more information about one of the implant brands, Zimmer Dental, that we work with!
